Tutoring Services
Tutoring is the world's first pedagogical system. It is the key to the wisdom of Socrates, Alexander the Great, and many others. Tutoring is a way to introduce early prevention/intervention services, get a head start in formal schooling programs, keep up with a cohort, or to further develop special talents. At Educational Pathways we offer two tutoring services to meet your child’s needs. Both services are also available in French.
The first, comprehensive tutoring services, is more like an enrichment or mentorship program where the program is highly integrated and motivating, and specifically created for your child. This is an ideal program for furthering gifted development or to get a head start in what is covered in formal schooling.
The specialized tutoring service is available for children needing remedial instruction for their school based programs. It is where we teach the fundamental skills needed to understand a concept, complete a project, etc. The teaching is closely tied to what is going on in your child’s classroom.

Both sessions integrate effective study skills, memory training, time management, organizational skills and goal setting as well as motivational techniques throughout the lessons. We don't only deal with concept attainment during our sessions, as all of the above skills help to understand concepts.
Progress within these two tutoring services is continuously evaluated using benchmarks as a basis. After each tutoring session you and your child will receive an email reviewing and evaluating the session just completed and providing information on the next steps to take.
Educational Pathways employs and refers only accredited teachers who set high expectations for your child without pressure, and who consider your child’s readiness, learning styles, and needs. We use a variety of approaches and strategies to meet the needs of your child, and teach in meaningful and fun ways. Our lessons are interactive and multi-sensory. You will find our teachers to be warm, nurturing and caring. They love what they do.
Many of our tutors are former teachers or teachers on leave. These teachers love their profession and wish to continue pursuing their passion in a more flexible way.
Tutoring services are offered in our office, in your home, or (if permitted) at your child's school. The decision is mainly based on what is the best learning environment for your child.
